Samples

These are some samples of my work. In some cases they illustrate how a piece of marketing collateral can be adapted for multiple uses.

White Papers

The Seven Deadly Network Sins
This white paper illustrates how to take a subject that’s been done to death (forgive the pun!) and present it in a fresh and compelling way. It was singled out by both TechTarget and KnowledgeStorm as an example of a very successful lead-generation piece.

Putting “Layer 8″ to Work: Application Performance Management on a Real-World Budget
This is an example of a hard-hitting sales-oriented white paper used for lead generation. Again, it was quite successful.

Controlling the Cloud
This white paper illustrates my ability to clearly explain an extremely technical subject: in this case, chaos control and how it can be used to control Internet congestion.

Fulfilling the Impossible Dream
This vendor-neutral white paper formed the basis of two contributed articles, which are included below.

Contributed Articles

Defending the Network
The “Impossible Dream” white paper was adapted to create this contributed article, which appeared in the January 2005 issue of Communications News.

Overcoming the Data-Scale Management Challenge in Large, Dynamic Networks
The “Impossible Dream” white paper was also adapted to create this solicited and reviewed paper, which was presented at the 2005 MILCOM conference.

CSC-IXIS Goes with the Flow
This contributed article was adapted from the CDC-IXIS case study included below. It appeared in the March 2004 issue of Communications News.

Case Studies

Frontier Airlines Case Study
An example of a simple, two-page case study.

CDC-IXIS Case Study
This case study was re-purposed as a contributed article for Communications News (above).
